The Educators' Spin On It
We do!  And our first ever LOVE BOOKS activity and book swap is underway.  When you give amazing moms a challenge, I can't wait to see will happen.  The goal of the swap is to help our kids (and yours) get excited about reading by combining an activity (preferably open ended) with a book.  More about the challenge here.

Today, I would like to introduce you to our participants!

Robyn blogs over at Pen Pals and Picture Books with Whitney. Their blog posts feature a book and an activity to go along with it.  If you haven't read their story yet of why they are blogging together, you really should, it's a BFF love story if there ever was one!  We really think collaborative blogging is the way to go =) One of her recent posts highlights the story of Gilbert Goldfish Wants a Pet by Kelly DiPucchio, illustrated by Bob Shea and the reason why her family can relate well to the story line! TOO CUTE!
Now, I know that Whitney blogs together at Pen Pals and Picture Books with Robyn, but if you read WHY then you will understand why these two both wanted to join in the swap separately (don't worry, I won't let them send each other the packages!) Whitney had me giggling with one of her last posts about meeting Jan Brett.  I was not laughing at her, rather imagining myself doing the SAME things!  She cracks me up =)  Those of us who go ga ga over kids picture books and those who write them must unite!!!

Tricia blogs about over at Critters and Crayons.  She is honest and funny writer who shares their family adventures with crafts, activities and mommisms with her readers.  I just adore the optimism in her blog mission statement, "On a mission to enjoy life- Wherever we happen to land."  Visit to read her most resent "Mom Momments" post.  Number 6 is about the best =)  You need to visit the post to see her before picture!!!!
Any kind of mom who is willing to serve green eggs and ham on Dr. Seuss's birthday, must be included in a book and activity swap.  Anne blogs over at Little Sprout Books.  She took a hiatus from blogging this winter to spend more time with her family, but is jumping back in to participate with us!!!  She has many, many posts about books and connecting activities.  You can search by tags on the left side of her blog

Yes, that's me!  I love to garden, craft, and read with my kids.  My kids just adore getting mail AND books.  To combine the two, now that would be amazing! I blog here at The Educators' Spin On it with my BFF Kim!
Love the idea of a swap - don't be sad that you have missed our deadline!  Instead, make up your own book and activity package for your kids to open.  Do you already blog about one book and feature an activity about it?  If so, we would love for you to link up to our year long linky here

Oh man! I was seriously online to tell you that I *can* participate and would love to. I had been worried about adding something else to my to do list, but had just figured out a way to do it. R has a pen pal though, so we can still send her one as a surprise. Thank you for the inspiration. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.
