We know that you LOVE BOOKS

The Educators' Spin On It

Love Books Activity and Book Swap.

We know that you love books! And since we are on the eve of a holiday that allows us to celebrate our love for our friends and family in our lives, why not share your love of books with the little people that live with you  =)  (Yes, your kids!)

The LOVE BOOKS activity swap through snail mail has completed.  This awesome group of moms has designed, delivered, opened, and created with their children!  Our kids have LOVED getting "real" mail and have played, learned, and explored in ways that we may not have before.  Best of all - the kids are EXCITED about reading.  YIPPPEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We received this adorable explorer pack!

Critters and Crayons kids make Valentine Chameleon Plates!  Such a fun little twist to combine the holiday with an adorable book!

And the dynamic duo of Robyn and Whitney at Pen Pals and Picture Books were busy making alphabet trees

and having lots of fun with poetry!

And Little Sprout Books gets Fishy!

This Valentine's Day, why not use these great book and activity packages as inspiration for something you can put together for your children.  Grab a book from your shelf and assemble a cute package using craft supplies from your cupboards to leave for the kids to open on Valentine's day.  Get a new-to-you book from a local thrift or consignment store and make a book and activity package for the kids to open when they get home from school.  Want to make a teachers day?  Make a package for them too!

No time to run to the store?  Well, this amazing fundraiser may be just the inspiration you need for an e-book and activity package, LUCKY for you it is themed for the holiday with links to how to make most of the projects AND your donation goes to a fantastic organization - The American Heart Association. Here is a little preview of the book, in case you were interested!!!!

Still need some inspiration???  Stop by our linky to get even more ideas on how to combine books and activities.  My kids are going to be SO excited when they wake up and find this book on the table and hearts hanging from the trees =) It has been a favorite of the kids this year and at the end, it talks about that it never rained hearts again, but that she found other ways to make her Valentines and has an illustration of hearts hanging from the trees. We have a tree right outside the window where we eat breakfast and I thought this would be a wonderful way to wake up on Valentine's Day morning!

A special thanks goes out to these bloggers for contributing a project to the heart book! If you feel like sharing the love with a blogger this week - stop by and leave a comment! I am sure they will appreciate it!!!

This was such a great project! It was exciting for the kids (and for me)...we'll definitely participate again! And I think it's a super idea for local groups to draw on- so easy to do and it breaks us out of our own little boxes. :) Thanks, again!
